If you are interested in voluntering Posadas with a choice of several orphanges or NGOs, please send us an email and we will help you out. We are looking for individuals or groups that like children and want help. We will arrange your host family, have someone pick you up at the airport, and even show you around Posadas. We have helped several individuals and groups in high school and univerity.

Update

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Even though I am far and funding is limited, we are doing what we can!!

It is currently winter in Posadas, and many children have suffered from the cold. We worked with local members of the community to supply blankets and winter jackets to the children.

Arco Iris de Suenos moved to a new home due to lack of funding from another donor in Italy. We are working with them closely to see how we can help even though we have limited means at this time.

We are currently working with children in grades 6 and 7 who wish to continue studies. High school is not mandatory in Argentina and many children drop out before reaching this level. We are working with several children to provide the means to continue studies. We are also working towards the inclusion of grants for children who have completed high school and wish to attend University.

Kids with School Supplies First Day of School

The school year in Argentina is March through December, so my trip in February/March involved purchasing lots of schools supplies for the children in Arco Iris de Suenos as well as other underprivileged children in the community. Thanks to donations, we were able to purchase backpacks, shoes, gym clothes, books, pencils, etc. for 10 children in this orphanage as well as schools supplies including paper, notebooks, pencils, pens, rulers, etc for other children without means of funding.

Visit

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Goods Hogar I returned to Posadas for 2 weeks to visit the children. My visit happened to coincide with the 1 year anniversary celebration for Arco Iris de Suenos which was a lot of fun! I spent most of my 2 weeks here purchasing goods for both the orphanage and children.

Goods purchased include diapers, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, etc. Many good purchased were left in the care of local volunteers that will supply them as needed to the orphanage. Gracias a todos por su ayuda!

Power Rangers Rollerblades

Also during my visit, I had each child made a “wish list” of toys and/or clothes. The children were thrilled to open presents!

Micaela and babies It was great to spend time with the children and see how much they grew in just a few months! I also visited the children in low-income families and children on the streets that I previously worked with for 2 years. Both the children and I enjoyed our short reunions!

Temporary Limited Funding

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

I will no longer be living in Posadas after 2 years of volunteering with the children. I will return in the future on short visits to assist the orphanages and children we have helped. Ninos de Argentina will continue to support all the children it has helped and has means of communicating with each of them. Funding will be limited during the next 2 years, as I will be serving in another country. However, funding is available on a needs basis. We still welcome your support - both donations and volunteers!!

Barrio Cruz del Sur

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

Doc Room Doc Room 2 Barrio Street I visited a neighborhood in Posadas called Cruz del Sur that is isolated from the rest of the city. There are 128 families in this community with no local police or fire station. There is one bus that passes through the neighborhood 3 times a day. The children walk to school 2 km everyday. There is no Kindergarten, so children begin school a year behind. These children also only continue until 6th grade as there is no high school. Each family has their own garden to provide vegetables part of the year. Volunteer and/or government doctors visit a few times a year for immunizations and other emergency needs. There is poor sanitation and they lack both equipment and supplies (see photos). We are currently evaluating possible projects for the children in this neighborhood.

Oratorio Donations

Donations 1 Donations 2 Donations 3

This was our biggest donation yet! Jovenes de San Miguel is a local NGO that oversees the 6 Oratorios in Villa Cabello. I began to visit and evaluate the needs of the other Oratorios over the past 4 - 5 months since my contact with Oratorio Caa-Cupé. I also participated in a Grant Writing seminar that taught local NGO’s, including Jovenes de San Miguel, to write their own grants. My involvement led me to focus more on the needs of these 6 Oratorios as a whole. (More information can be found here). There are over 225 children who benefit, but they lack supplies needed to learn and play. Niños de Argentina was able to donate these goods after evaluation. The donations include paper, paint, pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, books, learning games, jump ropes, soccer balls, volleyballs, etc.

Estudiantina

AleAll of the high schools in Posadas compete in a music/dance show every year. Both the band and dance team begin practice in June until the competitions start in September. Alejandra’s dance team had over 58 days of practice before the shows began. The costumes are extravagant, but each dance member must sew the costumes by hand, individual sequins and all! This is a picture of Alejandra who participated with her school dance team in the 2007 year.

Computers

Arco Computers Jovenes Computers

There were 5 donated computers included in the shipment. We waited to donate these items until the desks were built, software was uploaded, and security measures were taken into place! Three of the computers were donated to the orphanage, Arco Iris de Sueños and two of the computers were donated to Jovenes de San Miguel, for all 6 Oratorios to enjoy! The kids are really excited to be able to learn to type, play games, and do some of their homework on the computers!

Día de Niños

Dia de Ninos Arco Pizzeria Dia de Ninos - group In Argentina, there is a day called “Children’s Day.” The children do not have school and most have festivities on the weekend. The actual day fell on a weekend, so I took all of the older children in Arco Iris to eat at a Pizzeria. It was quite a disaster as the children aren’t used to table manners or know how to behave well in public, but they had fun and that’s all that counts! On another day, there was a party for Arco Iris de Sueños and all the neighborhood kids. The festivities included a puppet show, dancing, relay races, and candy! About 50 children were invited. The first and third photos are at the party and the photo in the middle is the group walking home from the Pizzeria.

Homes in Poor Neighborhood

Caa Cude Homes Caa Cude Homes 2 House

I have attached some photos of typical houses for most of the children that I work with here in Posadas. In the poor neighborhoods, such as that in Via Cabello, the homes are shacks made of wood. Most are only one room with cement floors. As there is no running water, latrines are out back (a pit toilet) and sinks consist of large pails of water which are refilled daily to wash the clothes and dishes. Most families have some sort of stove for cooking.

I organized a big surprise for the kids in Oratorio Caa-Cude and we donated 32 backpacks filled with goodies for the kids. Each backpack was filled with school supplies, underwear, a toothbrush, toothpaste, pants, and a shirt. Thank you to Colgate for the donation of toothbrushes and toothpaste! There is more information about Oratorio Caa-Cude here. GRACIAS!!

About once a month, I go to a wholesale store to buy many items in bulk for Arco Iris de Sueños. Niños de Argentina donates toilet paper, diapers (in 3 different sizes as there are 3 different babies), shampoo, conditioner, soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent, and other various cleaning supplies as needed.

Ezequiel Uniform

The 4th graders hosted the school assembly for “Flag Day.” Ezequiel is pictured in this photo, along with his classmates. Zacarias and Analia, two of his siblings are also in 4th grade and participated in the assembly. The uniforms for public schools are the white button-down shirts worn over their clothes.

Donations

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

The shipment of donations that was sent from Texas was finally released from Customs in Buenos Aires on May 10th, 2007! It arrived in Buenos Aires on September 27th, 2006 and took almost 8 months to be released. It took a lot of patience and unimaginable paperwork, but the children are finally receiving the goods! There is a picture of some of the donations that arrived on the Donate page. I will post some more once the goods are delivered to the children.Clinical use

Vardenafil’s indications and contra-indications are the same as with other PDE5 inhibitors; it is closely related in function to sildenafil citrate (Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis). Structurally, the difference between the vardenafil molecule and sildenafil citrate is a nitrogen atom’s position and the change of sildenafil’s piperazine ring methyl group to an ethyl group. Tadalafil is structurally different from both sildenafil and Levitra vardenafil. Vardenafil’s relatively short effective time is comparable to but somewhat longer than sildenafil’s.

Welcome!
